The Peace Work Institute (PWI) is one of the major components of YMCA Europe Roots for Peace project. Piloted during the previous project phases, it has been highly evaluated by the project external assessments and recommended for continuation and extension.
Aiming towards the capacity building and empowerment of youth workers and opinion leaders to act for change in their respective organizations and communities as multipliers of peace culture and movement, the PWI is an international endeavor assuming the engagement of participants in residential training schemes with homework assignments in between and follow up tandem initiatives to be implemented by graduates upon completion – tackling the issues of peace building and conflict transformation.
The first training session of Roots Peace Work Institute within the current implementation phase was held in Tbilisi, Georgia for the representatives of 13 European YMCAs and partner organizations on December 03-08, 2021.
The second session took place in Yerevan, Armenia on October 03-09, 2022. The detailed description of the session is provided as narrative in this report.
